Removing old pet "oils" from upholstery?

I just inherited a "free" couch and loveseat from a dog owner. He assured me that the dog never used the bathroom on them, but there is this yellow tinge to the arms and cushions where the dog sat and slept most often. A friend told me that it is from the oils that rubbed off of the dog's coat. How do I get rid of that?

The sofa is a cream color (so the stain is very noticeable) and the material is something like woven wool (not really sure what it is).

Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm with DP on this one; clean it or have it professionally cleaned. Even if the stains don't come out all the way you should clean it up as much as possible. Otherwise, in extreme weather, it may start stinkin'.
