About how much is fabric (per yard) these days?
I'm interested in buying myself fabric to make a dress, about how much is the average of buying fabric to make clothing. If I makes any difference I want it to be a toile print. How much is it by the yard please.
Unnesacary to answer, but it would be great to have one!
(also if anyone else knows, about how muchwould it be to buy fabric, a pattern, thread, and zippers?)
How long is a piece of string? Depending on where you shop and what sort of sales, $2-several hundred dollars a yard for fabric. I'd expect to pay at least $8 and more like $20 for a decent machine made toile. Last hand printed toile I noticed was about $75/yd.
Pattern costs again are highly variable: $1 for a Big 3 pattern on sale in a chain fabric store up to about $25-35 for an independent. $3-5 for thread, $3 for a standard dress zipper up to $50 for a highly decorative one like Riri makes. Don't forget interfacing and lining, also.
