Can my skin tone support white tattoo ink?
Hey I'm black but I have light skin and I wanted to get a tattoo with white ink is that going to be a problem. and if anyone who comment on this post have dark or light skin with white ink tattooed on them may you send me a pic of your tat so I can see it thanks.
We tore our hair out over these 'white ink tattoos' everybody wanted after a popular article in a national men's publication, glamorizing them. White ink can be a real problem, regardless of skin tone, because it's brighter than most everyone's skin. It doesn't 'take' in the skin too well, some people won't hardly take it at all. I have some white highlights in my left arm's sleeve, and it 'yellows up' rather quickly. We'll use it as a highlight, but if it gets any sun to speak of, that's that. Thank God people aren't coming in in droves anymore, asking for white ink tattoos. They usually turn out looking like a scar, rather than a tattoo. Dark skinned people do best with dark colors, and light skinned people do better with light colors. Even if you could get white to show up well, it probably would have to be packed several times to hold, and numerous touch-up sittings will be all that will keep it bright.
