how do i get a pee stain out of a natural dyed rug?
my idiot dog decided to pee on my $300 hand made, natural dyed rug that i got in afghanistan. of course she would choose that spot out of the entire house. my dilemma is how to clean it. i'm scared to use normal stain removers because of the natural dyes. any ideas?
Your idiot dog peed on the rug, which no doubt is wool, because he/she sensed another animal in his/her territory. The animal of course would be sheep. I've seen this happen a hundred times on valuable rugs, one was purchased at a cost of $17000.00. I was able to get the odor out, the yellow stains, in the hundreds, were permanent. Your rug could be salvaged by a professional hot water carpet cleaner who has the knowledge to clean the carpet without further damaging it. After it is cleaned, keep your pet (animal) out of the room where the rug is located. Go to www.iicrc.org., to locate one near you.
