What does the VS stand for in Epiphone Les Paul LP Classic Quilt Top VS?
Just wondering what the VS stands for in the Epiphone Classic guitar? Thinking of buying one but have no idea what this means.
I don't know, but if I ever see one I'm calling the cops.
jk...but really...i went into check out my first epi custom and when i picked it up it was so light that i knew that this was not a real reproduction of a gibson. a real one should weigh a ton or the whole idea of the guitar is lost.
The Les Paul should be more than a paper weight. The idea is that it is a completely stable platform. More wood density equals this stability. The strings transfer very little vibration because the vibrations are stopped by shear mass.
I think epiphone, by reducing the weight (and cost),has completely departed from the true les paul design in a huge way. The guitar in of itself is decent but it's not the real thing.
