Is it a good idea to line the cotton poplin?
I bought a floral print cotton poplin and have lot of doubts now
1. this pattern suggests me to use poplin for the dress but i was thinking as the poplin is thin but not so see through or anything will it be a good idea to line the poplin? If yes then what kind of fabric is better? I somehow don't feel comfy with poly-cotton due to its static effect and sticking to my thighs.... i hope you get an idea what i am trying to say...
Or
can i just ignore the lining and stitch a slip skirt from inside?
What to do?
It seems that if the pattern called for poplin and it isn't sheer, that it's the appropriate fabric to use and lining would not be necessary. If the pattern calls for a lining then it would be best to line it, otherwise you would be lining the skirt to give it more weight to make it lay better. Given the nature of cotton, a cotton or poly/cotton lining would cling to the poplin, so if you do line the skirt use nylon or silk lining fabric instead of cotton. The poplin will slide over the nylon rather than fight with it.
