What is the difference between a COTTON/SPANDEX blend and an ACRYLIC/COTTON blend Hat?
Please be fairly specific- I don't want to hear for example "the material"
Spandex is used to make it stretch... which is good for a hat. heres the big difference...
Cotton is a natural fiber that is hydrophilic - it absorbs water. its pourous and breathes - letting hot air out. That means when you get hot and sweaty... the cotton will pull the sweat away from your head and allow the heat to escape. (good for summer wear)
Acrylic is a synthetic fiber that is hydrophobic - it repells water. That means when you sweat, it will stay on your head. Its usually a tighter weave and keeps air inside. With 70% of your body heat, in winter, escaping from the top of your head... this comes in handy to keep your head warm.
