What is the best way to sew a chenille or flannel cotton cloth?

I sewed a blanket for my daughter Using flannel and chenille. I laid the track flat on the ground and placed the flannel on top. Then I pinned the two pieces together, sewed a 1 / 2 "seam, it reversed right and top-stitching. Then I washed, and it was perfect! No Additional flannel or chenille. I washed a second time, and now there are a ton of extra track. What can I do with blankets future to avoid this? I also have tons of burp cloths the same way with absolutely no problems. Is this the woven chenille like bedspreads old 50s, or is it knit chenille like Minky? I think first that flannel fell more than the track, so my first move to solve the problem would be to prewash fabrics several times before doing so to above. Knitting caterpillars can also distort during the cutting process (while knitting can do), generally shorter and wider than the fabric relaxes. To circumvent this problem, put the cloth flat on a sheet surface (wood floor or vinyl table cloth, table on a sheet of plastic) overnight or longer, making sure all the fabric is supported without hanging off and then cut the fabric.
