What is the best color background to take pictures of products on?
I just started an ebay business, and I want to take pictures of cake decorating supplies. What is the best color background to use? I want to go to my local fabric store to find something. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many people shoot products against an "infinite white" background. With proper lighting, this allows the production of shots with just the product and absolutely nothing else. You see it all around, but a very prominent use of it recently in videography is the "Mac vs. PC" commercials (remember: just the actors and no visibly separate background/floor/ceiling or anything else).
I have linked one company below which produces a portable background for exactly this purpose. It is very useful for small items, but remember that you also need to control the lighting so there may be some additional expenses.
