Will a blend of 58% acrylic and 44% polyester in an upholstery fabric be prone to pilling?
This would be put on a couch in a family room having daily use by adults and a toddler a couple of times a week. Thanks.
Yes it can.The best synthetic used in upholstery is nylon,such as 3M Herculon-type fabric.It cleans super and wear's well,unlike the other's.
On the other hand,stay away from natural cotton based fabrics,as we know,it can stretch and is prone to stain's and dirt retention,even with a fabric protection applied to it.
In closing, acrylics are a strong fiber,usually added in the 20-40% range to other materials for durability.Hope this helps! furniture business!
